I would love to hear everyone’s opinions on this story. There isn’t any detailed information yet; however, I’m going to make a strong assumption that it has less to do with the Career Center and more to do with the student…

Ahhhh…come on you know it is never the student’s fault.

I guess the next lawsuit will involve a graduate who is unhappy in the job the career services office helped them to obtain. It will be our fault for their unhappiness!

My fear is that the next lawsuit will not involve finding a job, but a student who feels they have been wrongly directed with regard to overall major and career choice!! Accept some responsibility people!!!!

Another ironic element to this story is that she was majoring in computer science or IT with an average GPA (2.5ish). I’d look at that student and say “honey in this economy, with an unemployment rate of 9.4%, you’ve got to be better than “average”.

LOL! So true! And, I believe she has only been looking since April. Think about how many other new graduates are looking as well! And, with a GPA of 2.5ish, I can imagine that her resume and experience is less than steller(sp?). So, she is out of her mind if she thinks she’s going to get her money back. Plus, what attorney would be foolish enough to take her case?
